Meetings

Our meetings are friendly and informal, enabling our members to promote friendship and fellowship, and give opportunities to share each other's lifetime of business and professional experience, while giving an insight into everyone's varied interests and hobbies.

We meet on the fourth Wednesday of each month for a luncheon. Our venue is at the Chequers Hotel which is one of the last remaining 18th Century Coaching Inns.

An insight into this attractive hotel and the surrounding picturesque area of Newbury can be seen in the accompanying photos.

Our Luncheon Meetings vary each month and usually include:-

Members Short Talk Programme  prior to luncheon which gives opportunities for members to share one anothers lifetime of business and professional experience and expertise whilst also giving an insight into members varied interests and hobbies.

Guest Speakers Programme commences after luncheon which includes a variety of speakers from all walks of life from the layman to professionals.

We also hold occasional social activities, events and regular coffee mornings.

The Events Programme  is scheduled at various times throughout the year offering members visits; tours; trips; and social occasions.

Coffee Mornings  are an opportunity for an informal get together which is open to members and guests.  They are arranged on a monthly basis at a local venue.

The Chequers Hotel is a traditional inn and looks out onto a charming 'secret' walled garden.

The Kennet & Avon canal runs through the heart of Newbury's town centre which is an attraction to everyone including visitors, and also supports traditional commercial narrow boats.
